What to Know Before Your First Session

A few important steps to help your first appointment go smoothly.

Before Your First Session

To ensure your session begins smoothly, please complete the following before your appointment:

1. Complete Your Intake Forms
All required forms are completed through the secure client portal. These include consent documents, practice policies, and brief questionnaires that help your therapist prepare for your session.

2. Insurance or Payment Information
If using insurance, please upload your insurance card through the client portal. Coverage and benefits will be verified prior to your appointment.
If you are self-pay, payment information will be collected securely before your session.

3. Confirm Your Appointment Details
Please double-check your appointment time, location (in-person or virtual), and contact information to avoid delays.

What to Expect in Your First Session

Your first session is a space to slow down, ask questions, and begin understanding what support might be most helpful for you.

You and your therapist will talk about what brings you in, your goals for therapy, and any immediate concerns. There is no pressure to share everything at once — therapy moves at your pace.

Session Length & Format

  • Sessions are approximately 53-55 minutes

  • Services are offered in-person and virtually, depending on clinician availability

  • Late cancellations and no-shows are subject to the practice cancellation policy outlined in our required notices.
