About Sarah
Sarah Rehmetullah brings a depth of clinical experience that is unusual for someone early in her career. Before completing her MS in Counseling and Development at Texas Woman's University, she spent time working in high-acuity settings — including a residential treatment program for substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral addictions, and an intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization program for OCD and anxiety. She has done the work that most clinicians encounter only in theory.
Her background spans individual and group therapy, biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and psychoeducational facilitation. She has worked closely with case managers and multidisciplinary teams, supported clients navigating compulsive behaviors and relapse, and built therapeutic rapport across a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and presentations. That breadth shows up in how she works — she is not easily rattled, and she does not need a client to be easy.
"You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply looking for support, I'm here to help. Together, we can make sense of what's going on and work toward the life you want to build."
Sarah graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Psychology from Texas A&M University, where she also worked as a research assistant in both an emotion lab and a cognition lab. That research foundation informs how she thinks about evidence-based practice — not as a checklist, but as a commitment to doing what actually works.
Outside of clinical work, Sarah serves as Chief of Staff for a mentorship program for at-risk youth within her community — a role that reflects her broader commitment to showing up for people who need it most.
Sarah holds her LPC-Associate license and practices under the clinical supervision of Kimberly Parker, MS, Doctoral Candidate, LPC-S, LCDC, EMDR-Trained. She is now accepting new clients in person at Sentient Path's Flower Mound office and virtually anywhere in Texas.
Areas of Focus
My ideal client is someone feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the life they want to live. They want relief from distress, healthier coping skills, and greater confidence navigating life's challenges. Together, we work to understand patterns that keep them stuck, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change aligned with their values and goals.
Whether it shows up as persistent worry, social anxiety, panic, or OCD-related distress, Sarah brings both clinical skill and genuine steadiness to the work. She has worked with anxiety across clinical settings — from outpatient therapy to intensive programs.
Sarah's background includes working directly with clients in OCD-focused treatment programs. She supports clients in building a different relationship with intrusive thoughts and compulsive patterns — including compulsive sexual behaviors.
Sarah has direct clinical experience in residential substance use treatment, including work with co-occurring behavioral addictions. She approaches addiction without shame or judgment, using evidence-based strategies and relapse prevention.
Depression can look like numbness, disconnection, exhaustion, or a quiet sense that nothing will change. Sarah creates a space where clients can explore what is underneath without judgment, and begin to reconnect with themselves and what matters to them.
Major changes — career shifts, relationship challenges, identity questions, loss — can leave people feeling unmoored. Sarah helps clients process what is shifting and build clarity about who they want to be on the other side.
Drawing on DBT and person-centered approaches, Sarah helps clients build distress tolerance, identify values, and develop practical tools for navigating emotional intensity — especially for those who have felt overwhelmed by their own reactions.
Sarah understands the particular pressures of adolescence and early adulthood — identity, relationships, academic stress, and the gap between who you are and who you want to be. She brings a grounded, non-condescending presence to sessions with teen clients, and works with parents as needed to support the process
How Sarah Works
I provide a supportive, culturally sensitive space for adults and teens facing anxiety, OCD, depression, relationship stress, life transitions, and substance use challenges. Together, we'll build practical coping tools, increase self-understanding, and work toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Treatment typically involves understanding patterns that keep you stuck, building practical coping skills, and working toward goals that feel meaningful and achievable. Clients often leave feeling more grounded, self-aware, and confident in handling life's stressors.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
A structured, evidence-based approach to understanding and shifting the thought patterns that drive anxiety, depression, and distress. Sarah applies CBT in a way that is practical and collaborative — not mechanical.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT skills — distress tolerance, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness — give clients concrete tools for managing intensity and building a life that feels worth living.
Adlerian Therapy
Adlerian approaches help clients understand how early experiences and social context shape current patterns — and how to move toward greater belonging, purpose, and self-direction.
Person-Centered Therapy
At the foundation of Sarah's work is genuine warmth, unconditional positive regard, and a belief that clients are the experts on their own lives. The therapeutic relationship is not background — it is the work itself.
Relapse Prevention & Motivational Strategies
For clients navigating addiction or compulsive behaviors, Sarah integrates relapse prevention strategies and motivational approaches that support clients in exploring ambivalence and building their own motivation for change.
Supervised Clinical Practice
